Guaranteed Inventory

Guaranteed inventory refers to the purchase of advertisements offered in a certain amount of inventory.

A guarantee usually means that if that amount of inventory is not delivered, then some sort of penalty will usually apply.

In many cases, the penalty is implied rather than explicit and involves the publisher making amends with the ad buyer by providing additional inventory as compensation.

Inventory consisting of impressions sold in advance and not as part of a live auction through live auctions. Guaranteed to call because the publisher has a contract with an agency that agrees to provide such prints for a certain fee. If the guarantee is not met, the agency will often demand compensation, usually in the form of a loan. See also premium stock.
